Born in 1946, André SYROTA has been nominated Executive Director of the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research, Inserm, in October 2007. He previously was Director of the Life Sciences Division of the French Atomic Energy Commission (1993-2007) and Professor of Biophysics and Nuclear medicine (MD,PhD) at the University of Paris-Sud. He was also head of the Service hospitalier Frédéric Joliot (CEA, Orsay), one of the European leading nuclear medicine and medical imaging research institutes (1984-2007). He has been a member of various boards at national and European research institutions. He is a member of the French Academy of Technologies.
André Syrota is the author of more than 200 articles and 40 book chapters. He co-authored “5 propositions pour la médecine du futur” (5 proposals for the future of medicine).
